Welcome To Cooinda Park Equestrian Townsville
Cooinda Park Equestrian is a small, premium horse riding facility located in Alligator Creek, just 20 minutes south of Townsville. Coach and owner, Dayna Stratton, is an accredited Riding for Disabled Instructor, Equestrian Australia (EA) Instructor, and Equitation Science Instructor.
Dayna has over ten years of experience volunteering and coaching with Townsville Riding for the Disabled. At Cooinda Park, we are now able to offer one-on-one, or semi-private riding and equine-related services to children and adults living with a disability.
As an accredited EA and Equitation Science International, we specialize in show jumping lessons based on Equitation Science principles. Equitation Science is an emerging field that explains why horses behave as they do and how to modify their behaviour for a better and more effective partnership.
Through this blend, we aim to teach both children and adults with a foundation of excellent flatwork, groundwork and horsemanship. From the novice to the competitive rider, at Cooinda Park, our aim is to provide our students with the environment and services they need to achieve their goals.
Cooinda Park also offers a limited number of agistment spots. We are a welcoming and friendly, family-run business. All horses are closely supervised. In addition to supporting riders and horse owners, our major priority is ensuring all animals under our care are happy and healthy.
Cooinda Park backs onto Alligator Creek and is just 4 kilometres from Bowling Green Bay National Park. We are also just around the corner from Alligator Creek Pony Club.

Horse Boarding & Agistment Townsville
Cooinda Park is a professional horse boarding and agistment centre. The origin of the word “Cooinda” means “happy place” in Aboriginal language. We are hopeful that in leasing a paddock with our knowledgeable, experienced and horse-mad personnel, you too will find Cooinda Park to be your happy place!
